TORONTO, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Canada's main stock index continued edging up little Friday for straight three days as higher gold prices boosted materials stocks.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's benchmark Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index edge up 23.82 points to close the day at 15,983.32.
Eight of 10 main sectors ended higher.
The Canadian dollar came to 0.78.27 U.S. dollar.
The largest gainer was SSR Mining Inc, jumping 7.3 percent while CES Energy Solutions Corp rose 6.5 percent.
Thomson shares fell 4.2 percent 47.90 Canadian dollars.
Finning shares lost 1.5 percent to 33.34 Canadian dollars. Enditem
