GAZA, June 3 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian died Sunday of wounds he suffered during anti-Israel protests along Gaza-Israel border, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
Mohammed Hamada, 30, succumbed to the injuries he sustained 20 days ago, Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman for the health ministry in Gaza said in a statement, adding that Hamada was receiving treatment in Gaza's Shifa hospital.
This brings the death toll among Palestinian protesters to 120 since the rallies known as the "Great March of Return" started on March 30.
The rallies also caused the injury of some 14,000, of whom 300 suffer from serious wounds.
The protests, which peak every Friday, demand the return of Palestinians refugees, who were forced to leave their cities during the Arab-Israeli war in 1948, as well as lifting the blockade Israel has been imposing on Gaza since 2007.
