TOKYO, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed marginally lower Monday as earlier dip buying gave way to Chinese shares' retreat weighing on investor sentiment here.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 34.80 points, or 0.16 percent, from Friday to close the day at 21,149.80.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 6.45 points, or 0.40 percent, to finish at 1,589.56.
Glass and ceramic product, service, and precision instruments-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
