TOKYO, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Tuesday, snapping a three-day losing streak, as investors bought back issues oversold and the market mood was lifted by reports about U.S. trade.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 307.49 points, or 1.45 percent, from Monday to close the day at 21,457.29.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 21.90 points, or 1.38 percent, to close at 1,611.46.
Pulp and paper, consumer credit and electric appliance-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
